Pats Weekly Diary - September 1, 2014 We returned to work on Friday night playing Speckled Ts in Slidell. It was not packed but there was a pretty good crowd of folks that showed up. There was quite a bit of dancing. Saturday afternoon we played in South Kenner at a place called the Crossing. Its a pretty new reception / banquet hall. We were asked to participate in a benefit for Kaity Pitfield whos father Mike has been a friend of the Topcats for many years. Actually it wasnt so much a benefit as just a celebration. Its our understanding that Kaity has been watching us since she was a small child and hoped to one day have the Topcats play for her wedding. Were sad to say that Kaity passed away recently from a very rare disease. It was the least we could do. She was only 22 years old. Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to Mike and his family. Afterwards we had a few hours to kill. Home to watch the LSU game. As soon as the game was over... we returned home to Stepbrothers for the post game party. It was packed. And it was a pleasure for us to return once again to Stepbrothers. For those who might not know, we once had a regular every Wednesday night gig there.... I guess for about two or three years. Sunday we were back at Brisbis on the lakefront for their End of Summer Bash. Black Rain played as well. Needless to say it was extremely warm when we started at 4:30. But a great crowd. And certainly great to have live music back on the lake. Were off now and well be at the Edge in the Lauberge Casino Hotel Baton Rouge on Friday. Saturday is a wedding and Sunday... I cant f***in wait for Sunday... Saints - Falcons. Who Dat!!!
