Patty Griffins Up to the Mountain is based off of Dr. Marin Luther King Jr.s final speech and has always been a favorite of many. Christian artist, Robbie Seay covered the song a couple years ago and the raw emotion and simplicity of the cover is truly moving. Today seems as fitting a day as any to share this beautiful rendition. And, a few lines from MLKs final speech that are forever inspiring: Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But Im not concerned about that now. I just want to do Gods will. May we not only remember Dr. King for the inspiring life of change he lived, but also remember that he was willing to die for a cause that the Lord called him to.
