Pauch is in the Holiday Spirit dominating NES Christmas in July New Egypt, NJ (July 13, 2013) – Billy Pauch of Frenchtown, NJ won his third feature of 2013 on Saturday evening as he took top honors in the 30-lap 358 Modified main event. Pauch completely dominated the event, charging from 15th starting spot to the lead in less than 9 laps and then running away to win by a straightaway in the non-stop event. Tommy Farrell grabbed the lead at the start from pole sitter Doug Ostwald and quickly opened up a sizeable advantage on all challengers. Pauch meanwhile was slicing thru traffic on his assault to the front, moving into the top 5 on just the third lap from his fifteenth starting position. By lap 5 he was second and immediately began running down Farrell, who had built up over a half of a straightaway advantage. Three laps later Pauch was right on his back bumper and he assumed command by diving under Farrell off of turn two. Once in front, no one had anything for the five time champ as he drove off into the sunset of the non-stop affair. The battle was for second and Neal Williams, who was very fast in his own right, finally wrestled that spot away from Farrell as he drove onto the runnerup finish. Farrell settled for third, his best finish this season, as he held off Tad Cox over the final few laps. Ryan Godown was consistent throughout the event coming home fifth. Mike Butler of Milford, NJ scored his first Sportsman win of the season in the 20 lap main event. Butler, who is a Crate Sportsman winner earlier this season also, grabbed the lead from JT Trstensky and never looked back. Trstensky settled for second while Johnny Cornell charged home third ahead of Brian Roemer and Jim Housworth. Bill Liedtka captured his fifth win of the season in the Street Stock 20 lap feature event. Liedtka controlled the non-stop event winning handily over Rich Mongeau. Jason Saredy cruised home third followed by early race leader Todd Woodruff and point leader Dan Collamer. Next Saturday, June 20, New Egypt Speedway will present Bike Night. Everyone arriving at the Speedway on a Motorcycle will receive half price admission. On the track, the 358 Modifieds will be competing, joined by the FASTRAK Crate Sportsman and Late Models, along with the TSRS 305 Sprint cars.
