Paul Brooks, in my opinion, has NEVER intended to lead our tribal government in a constitutional manner. His action below in December shows for 3 months he has knowingly and willfully intended to keep Tribal Council out of all decision-making regarding the Culture Center. He has probably promised jobs, contracts and all sorts of incentives to folks as soon as he could hang a loan around the necks of Lumbee People. I was told yesterday that Brooks and/or his representatives have been threatening folks with law suits who sign the Recall Petition. LUMBEE PEOPLE MAN AND WOMAN UP!!!! Lets keep our mission ahead of us. I am confident the State of North Carolina will give Lumbee People 90 days to prepare a plan for purchase and implementation of the Culture Center. WE HAVE TO GET PAUL BROOKS RECALLED WITHIN 45 DAYS IN ORDER TO HAVE A REASONABLE SHOT AT DEVELOPING A PLAN TO ACQUIRE THE CULTURE CENTER. Our Lumbee Grandmothers wore BONNETS but they werent WAR BONNETS. Like I said before, if you want folks to head up Lumbee Culture based on what they have learned from Plains Indians and the Eastern Band of Cherokee, then leave Brooks where he is and we all will move into teepees.
