Paul Chappell who will be here on 11/19 and 11/20. I think this is a unique opportunity to engage our community, young and old, in hearing the thoughts and experiences of a courageous young man talk about why it is crucial that we learn to arm ourselves for waging peace to insure a sustainable future for our world. Paul is a multi-racial man who grew up in a military family in Alabama and was educated at West Point Military Academy, serving as an Army officer in Iraq. From his life experiences, Paul had a transformation of mind and heart and came to recognize the futility of war and the need to find new and more productive ways of engaging with our political enemies. He has written seven books on this topic and now is the Director of Peace Leadership for the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation in Santa Barbara, California. He will be at Peace U.C.C. on Wednesday evening 11/19 for the purpose of meeting with community youth. He also will be at CSS for a public presentation at 7:00pm, and during the day will offer a mini-workshop that is also open to the public from 10:00am - 1:30pm.
