Paul Germain and I did a splendid cycle out in Albermarle County today. About 60% dirt/gravel roads with some steep (see photo) but not overly long climbs and thrilling descents. The ride can be found on the Cville Bicycle Clubs map and cue sheet webpage and is called the Free Union/ Mountfair route. About 25 miles. Gorgeous scenery and a very nice winery about a third of the way into the ride. They specialize in reds and there Bonfire is rich and robust. Paul picked up a bottle of it and I came away with some Potters Craft Cider Oak Barrel Reserve. Those Wald baskets are the trick for picking up nice baggage along the way.
