Paul Koulibaly has finally penned a deal with Orlando Pirates. As reported early this month that Pirates were weighing up whether or not to offer the 27-year-old defender a contract. Bucs management have now decided to sign the player, however he is only expected to join the team at the end of the Iraq League’s season. The Burkina Faso defender will remain at Iraqi club, Al Shorta, until the end of their season which ends on the 16th of August 2013. With the CAF Champions League registration period closing a week from now, Bucs head coach Roger de Sa could opt to register the player, as there are two berths still open in the squad. Koulibaly, who would only be available at the end of his current club’s campaign, will be a welcome addition to the side, as Bucs and Bafana Bafana central defender, Siyabonga Sangweni, is still on the road to recovery following a knee injury which kept him side-lined for about three months.
