Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints - TopicsExpress

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 1:1) Apostle means one sent forth with orders. Paul saw himself as a sent one, an official representative of Christ. The original apostles were unique. They had seen Christ. The twelve saw Him in His flesh, and Paul saw Him in a special appearance as Christ commissioned Him to be His apostle. (1 Corinthians 15:8). For Paul, Jesus was the focal point of Christianity. He called himself a man in Christ. He said, For me to live is Christ. He gave up everything for the knowledge of Christ. He was enthralled with Jesus, the driving force in his life. Oh to be more like that!! My prayer is that we might see ourselves as chosen, commissioned, and sent by Jesus. Although we are not one of the original apostles, we have the same privilege and responsibility to love Jesus with all our hearts, represent Him everywhere we go, and be a sent one by the King of Kings. Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for choosing, calling, and sending me into the world as a sent one. Let my character reflect You, my words reveal You, and my thoughts revere You. May Jesus be the focus and force of my life! In Jesus Name, Amen.
