Paul presents an inside view of the life of Christian community in his letter to Ephesians. The Holy Spirit is the key, and each of us needs to live in the fullness of the Spirit. As we do, our gathering times teem with excitement and encouragement. Paul puts it this way: “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.“ (Ephesians 5:18-20 NKJV) Growing up in the atmosphere of a Midwestern revival movement, I found worship Sunday morning and especially evening to be the most exciting event of the week. We packed into a crude tabernacle in Pontiac, Michigan. It had hard board benches and sawdust on the floor, but the Holy Spirit filled each believer with amazing joy!
