Paul says we have to work at being agents of grace; it doesn’t just happen because we claim to have some kind of relationship with Jesus (Phil. 2:12). That relationship needs maintaining, just like a marriage requires work, our relationship with God requires effort. What I believe we all forget from time to time is how selfish we tend to be. We tend to wait for the other person, while we refuse to put forth and fail to acknowledge and be grateful for what was, is being done. We cant outgive God, but we can outgive, outsacrifice, outpour love for each another.
