Paul stated in Romans 8:22 that the whole creation was groaning, expecting something great, like a woman who was about to give birth to a baby. The physical world is not a great accident of evolution; instead, it is directed creation, make for a purpose and moving every day closer to the accomplishment of that heavenly goal. The physical world rejoices in a manner different from human beings. We can speak and sing; the physical world merely reflects the glory of its Creator. As we see beauty in what we call nature, we are seeing the glory of God. Only the hardest hearts could deny the beauty of the sky at sunset or sunrise, or the wonder of the great oceans of the world or the quietness of a still silent forest after a soft rain. All these things are silent messages sent to touch our hearts and let us know that all nature is working together to bring about the will of God.
