Pauline Latham OBE MP welcomes a fall in Unemployment in Mid Derbyshire Pauline Latham OBE MP has welcomed the news from the Office for National Statistics that the unemployment figures for Mid Derbyshire for August 2013 show that unemployment has fallen. The number of claimants is now 376 lower than in July 2012 and 19 lower than in July 2013. Mrs Latham, MP for Mid Derbyshire said: “I am very pleased that there has been fall in unemployment in Mid Derbyshire. We are living in very difficult economic times but this fall in unemployment shows we are moving in the right direction towards economic recovery. I am working hard to support businesses in the local area, and am organising an Exports conference for small and medium sized businesses in my constituency which will take place in October. I would like to see them have the opportunity and help to either start exporting where appropriate or increase their exports to help expand their business and to create more jobs." ENDS.
