Paying It Forward: So, theres a kid in my neighborhood who Ive known since he was born. Some tragic family circumstances occurred when he was a toddler, and because of this hes parentless. Hes now a teenager and lives with his grandmother and great grandmother. I can clearly see hes losing his way and needs male mentorship. Although Im presently still a full- time graduate student completing my phd, my wife and I discussed signing him for for Carrollton sports along with our kids. I cant imagine never having parents or family to cheer you on, or just having the nurturing of a family. I spoke with his grandmother last week and she agreed to let us mentor him and do sports. He also now comes to our house everyday to hangout, play video games, practicing pitching/ batting, and get some structure. Weve paid the $185 registration for baseball, now we need to get the remainder of his gear. During this Lent season consider paying it forward by putting your money and your time to help make a difference in someone elses life. For instance, my pallet is full! However, Id surely prefer to see this young man go to college instead of prison/ to become successful and not a statistic. If youre interested in assisting us drop me an inbox. We could use: baseball cleats, bat, ball, bag, and helmet, pants, socks, and even some folk to cheer him on at the games. Together, we can make a super difference! No sympathy or pity party, just genuine love. Im just trying to make a difference. Youre assistance on this Positive Contribution would be so awesome! #PositiveLentContributionDay23
