Peace With Your Enemy Proverbs 16:7 23 January 2015 Lonnie Jones Good Morning My Friends! Well, thank goodness it is Friday, the 23rd of January 2015. Kido and I enjoyed a nice walk this morning as it was a balmy 32 degrees. Lord, thank you for these above average temperatures. Please continue to send them our way! Amen! Yesterday I wrote about God’s mercy and compassion that He gives to us even though we are not worthy. As we grow and continue in faithfulness and obedience to Him and trust Him more and more with unwavering faith, He delights in making a deluge of blessings fall upon us. Which brings me to this morning’s thoughts. You know, during our everyday life, we may become enemies of our fellow man, often within our families, or our place of employment or due to mere jealousy. At any rate, another person thinks poorly of us and makes it a point to war with us, always looking for opportunities to wage a verbal battle or do things that will harm us or make us look bad with our fellow man. As I thought about this issue, in the back forty as I walked Kiko, the Lord talked to me. He wants us to be at peace with everyone because peace is love. Amen! He tells us this in Romans 12:18, “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” So we know that being at peace with our brethren is important to the Heavenly Father, or He would not have penned the above verse using the hand of Apostle Paul. Amen. So this morning, He brought familiar scriptures into my spirit. You know…this verse spoke to me! Psalms 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of you heart.” So that is the key, our ways must be pleasing to God as we walk in faithfulness and obedience as I keep on saying. Then if we do that then God will shut the mouths of those who strive to fight with us. Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He make even his enemies to be at peace with him.” What an awesome verse and promise. God will develop and cause peace to be ours without us battling our fellow man! Isn’t that wonderful. So we know the principle here…right! Let our ways please God, and stand in His peace and on His Word and He will extend His mercy and compassion to us and for us so that we can live in harmony and tranquility. That’s the way the Heaven Father desires that we live our life. Amen! You know, there is one more verse that seals the deal concerning this topic. It is Isaiah 41:12 which says, “You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent.” “My oh my!” What a powerful promise from God! Our enemies will cease to exist so we will not have to worry about them. Isn’t our God awesome in power and glory! He loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3) and wants the best for us as His children. Today, we need to stand on these promises and quit fighting with those who wants to destroy us. We need to shut up, stand by and let the hand of the Lord fight for us to shut the mouths of those against us and to drive them from our presence. In conclusion, be at peace with everyone and be the shining light of Jesus Christ today as you enjoy this day that the Lord has blessed you with. In His Love Lonnie
