Peace be to you. All of us have seen the latest news unfolding throughout the world, particularly the persecution of Christians in Iraq. There are no words to describe the horror that our Brethren within that region are facing, nor should we fall into the sin of hatred as a result. This is a challenge; for myself I continue to recall the words of St. Padre Pio, You cannot expel Satan with Satans ways! We must keep in mind that evil only begets evil; the true weapon against all things of darkness is the True Light of world Who is infinite love. In the same way that a flickering candle illuminates a darkened room, we must first illuminate our hearts that this world of darkness may too receive illumination. We must pray for peace, pray for our enemies as commanded by Our Blessed Lord, forgive the evil as it is being committed. I ask that you all during these troubling times recite, reflect, and meditate on two things: the Beatitudes of Christ and the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi, through these holy mediums may we find that Most Holy of Lights, peace for the world, and within our own souls.
