Peaceful Birth Forum Monday, April 28, 2014 FREE - 6:30pm to 8:00pm Location - held at the office of Mothers Milk Support 247 Charlotte St. Suite 211, Asheville NC 28801 How to Progress Normally during Labor and Birth with Good Support This forum will include: how to progress normally during labor and birth by having continuous labor and birth support with a loved one, doula or other effective labor attendant who is well informed and supportive of your wishes. The better the support is, the easier labor will be. When women feel safe and cared for they produce hormones that make them feel relaxed and able to deal with labor. Receiving good support during labor includes a well educated birth partner who can help you with effective labor and birth positions and comfort measures to allow the laboring woman to avoid unnecessary medical procedures including cesarean surgery. We will discuss and practice comfort measures and labor positions for 1st and 2nd stage labor which encourage normal, healthy labor and birth. Expectant women and birth partners are encouraged to attend whether it is your first baby or your fifth. The discussions are held birth circle style and are open, non-judgmental and confidential.
