Peacemaking is not just doing big things to solve big conflicts, - TopicsExpress

Peacemaking is not just doing big things to solve big conflicts, in the way of Martin Luther King Jr. Mother Theresa of Calcuta, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi or George Mitchell. We are not all called to work for peace on the international level, but we are all called to become men and women of peace wherever we may be: in our family, at work, in our neighbourhood, in our state, even in our place of worship. To be a peacemaker means not to judge or condemn or speak badly of people, not to rejoice in any form of ill that may strike people. Peacemaking is welcoming people who are weak and in need, maybe just with a smile, offering them kindness and tenderness and opening our hearts to them. We should not forget the prayer of saint Francis of Assisi that says: "Lord make me an instrument of your peace, where there is hatred, let me bring love, where there is fear, let me bring peace, where ther is sadness, let me bring joy". With that, we can make Nigeria a better place for both the rich and the poor. God bless Nigeria. Amen.
