Peanut the turtle is a clear reminder that cleaning up after ourselves is of the utmost importance. In her youth, the turtle became trapped in the plastic rings of a six pack. As she grew, her shell grew around the litter, until it was shaped like a peanut. She was discovered in Missouri and taken to the zoo, where she received medical attention. Though she is extremely disfigured, experts say she is in good health. If this had happened to a different animal, the plastic would have dug into the skin, and the animal would have likely died of infection. Please clean up after yourself and dispose of waste properly!
