Pedestrian hit by motorist in Lakewood File photo LAKEWOOD — A pedestrian was struck and injured by a motorist Tuesday night, police said. Police released little information about the incident but did say the victim was hit shortly before 8 p.m. near Rt. 9 and Rt. 88. Rt. 9 was partly closed as authorities carried out an investigation and there were still minor delays along Rt. 9 southbound as of about 10:15 p.m., said Sgt. James Finnegan. The motorist remained at the scene, Finnegan also said. The victim was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Paul Milo may be reached at pmilo@njadvancemedia.
