Pedestrian hit by truck – Kings Langley Police have commenced inquiries after a man was hit by a truck on the M7 at Kings Langley today. About 11.30am (Sunday 16 February 2014), police and emergency services were called to the M7 just past Norwest Boulevard where they found a 59-year-old man seriously injured. Police have been told a truck driver braked in an attempt to avoid the man on the road but was unable to do so and struck him. A truck then hit the rear of his vehicle. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition with head, chest, and leg injuries, and placed in an induced coma. The driver of the second truck suffered leg injuries and was taken to hospital in a stable condition. He will also undergo mandatory drug and urine testing. The other truck driver was uninjured. Inquiries into the incident are continuing and investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed it, and who hasn’t already spoken to police, to contact them.
