Pedro Pan Daniel "Desi" Lanio Dou was named the 2012 recipient of the Hampton Rotary Club Citizen of the Year award in Hampton, New Hampshire. Daniel arrived in Camp Kendall at age 9 with his younger brothers Ricardo (8) and Raúl Ramiro (7) on August 28, 1961. Shortly thereafter, they were relocated to St. Anthony’s Home in Sioux City, Iowa, where they remained for several years until they were moved to an orphanage in Rhode Island. A year later they were reunited with their parents. Daniel was featured earlier in this page on June 14, 2013.
