Peer Pressure We had a fundraising barbecue on Saturday. One of the local homeless people came to talk to me. He told me he was sick of drinking and would be happy not to drink again. (He initiated this topic. I didn’t raise it). This took me by surprise. He also went on to tell me that he doesn’t think he will be able to stop. Not because he doesn’t want to, but because he says his peers won’t let him. He says they act “insulted” if he declines to drink with them. I didn’t expect this, so I didn’t know what to advise him. I’ve since worked out what he can say, so if he still feels the same, he’ll have a strategy.
