Peggys Heart ~ The idea behind Peggys Heart began during me and moms time in the chemo room. The Joy of Life and Desire to Live is so palpable in that room. The patients, the caregivers (although different) and the men and women who work there have a profound understanding of the delicacy and the gift of Life. Our time in the chemo room was brightened regularly by groups or individuals who would walk by with a cart with snacks/drinks and a kind word. At the same time, it was profoundly obvious how blessed mom and I were to have such a large support group. Not everyone has family or caregivers available to help. The needs for insurance assistance, coordination of therapies, transfer training, etc. was overwhelming! A Need..... While the seed of helping/service was planted in my mind, caring for mom and my family was always paramount. As time went on, the idea grew into more that just the chemo room. Jay found a heart, Crystal wrote a song entitled Peggys Heart, moms ministry friends asked have you thought of starting a ministry, etc. These things all bean to happen separately, but yet at the same time.... Peggys heart began to be formed. Mom wanted her legacy to be Live Abundantly by being grateful, loving unconditionally, seeing the best in each person, making the best of each circumstance. What better way to keep her legacy alive... Peggys Heart, has taken hold. The details behind Peggys Heart are still being worked out, but the vision includes Service and Ministry. Providing scholarships to young men and women to participate in missions or youth conferences ~ ways to grow in their Faith and Live it out through Service. Providing a ministry to the patients and families in the chemo room. Peggys Heart has formed a group on facebook and we will continue to find ways to keep in touch with you and those who want to remain part of Peggys Heart. As of today, Peggys Heart has donated 8 barrels of food to the food bank, and over 100$ worth of supplies to an orphanage for children with disabilities in China (they are being delivered by a Heart Friend). As we figure more out, I will keep you posted. Know that as you continue to pray for us, we are praying for you! Praying our mourning is turned into Dancing!
