People! Stop asking stylists, tattoo artists, makeup artists, photographers, and those alike..how many years theyve been doing it. Start asking them to see their portfolio instead! Just because somebodys been in the business for 20 years doesnt mean they are better than somebody thats been doing it for two years. Somebody that has been doing it for over two decades and brags about how long theyve been in the industry could easily just have the same 10 clients on rotation or producing the same mediocre work and never expanding their education or technique. While another thats a few years into the industry could easily be exceptionally talented naturally, let alone on top of their game as far as knowledge and technique, as well.
