People, Write down this number, 485-1543, on paper, in case you cant get your machine running. You need to set up a system to save your information in case of disaster. Not the earthquake/flood kind, that is beyond my expertise. Im talking about a computer disaster. My mom kept her pictures in paper form in boxes and albums. Several years ago she sent out care packages with some pictures to all the kids to start our collections. The pictures were faded and many were scratched. These pictures are really precious to me. I kept the paper ones, but they are now all scanned into files on the computer too. I keep these backed-up without fail. I have had hard drives fail myself, but have not lost any files. The preferred way to do this is to copy, automatically, all the documents, pictures and movies to a different hard drive, at least daily. Most desktop machines can accommodate an extra internal hard drive. Smaller machines and laptops can utilize an external hard drive, through a USB port. Ive saved a lot of stores of data, but Ive also had to tell some customers that it is ALL GONE. Hardware not working? Windows just not what it used to be? Programs acting WACKY?
