People are being extremely harsh on him. His quote was taken OUT OF CONTEXT. Its typical media propaganda bullshit that deliberately puts people in a bad light by twisting their words. He said, if you cannot enforce the ban on betting, it is like saying “if you can’t prevent rape, you enjoy it”. He gave his opinion that betting should be legalised and that if the laws cannot be enforced that does not mean that laws should not be made. He then compared this to the stupid idea that if rape is inevitable one should lie back and enjoy it. His idiom might have been extreme but as common sense would tell you, he does not support the idea of rape. He just got alot of shit because his quote was so newsworthy and the media would do anything get attention, even if it means deliberately misunderstanding someone.
