People are like candles. At any moment a breeze can blow it out, - TopicsExpress

People are like candles. At any moment a breeze can blow it out, so enjoy the light while you have it. Back in the late 1990s I had the pleasure of spending one whole day with childhood friend & classmate, Rene Alaniz. He happened to be visiting LA and we agreed to get together. I enjoyed showing Rene some of the sights in Hollywood which included taking him to a TV studio and having him sit in a news anchors chair and deliver that days news into the camera. He was a TV natural...really at ease delivering the news. We also went to a local Mexican restaurant and shared our childhood memories with a couple of my LA friends along with my wife, Lupe. He had us laughing non-stop throughout dinner with his joke-telling (especially in Spanish). What a funnyman. To this day, my wife cracks up when I remind her of our time with Rene. Rene also accompanied us to theater play that a mutual friend was performing in (see pic). Not only did we enjoy the stage play but we managed for Rene to meet the cast and crew afterward and ,of course, he had them cracking up with his humor. It seems that everywhere Rene went he left nothing but smiles in his wake. I am melancholic with news of Renes passing but I know that he lived a full life worthy of high praise.I will always remember his great attitude and huge smile. His job on this earth is done and my wife and I wish his spirit God-speed. Our condolences to the Alaniz family. Richard Yniguez, James Victor, Rene Alaniz & Dave Silva
