People are simply unaware of the plight of dairy cows (and their offspring). In order to produce milk, they must remain pregnant. The calves are born in dirty, hostile environments and taken immediately from their mother. If you had cream in your coffee today - if you had cheese on your pizza or sandwich - if you had cheesecake or ice cream for your Christmas dessert - you were directly responsible for the horrible death of a calf. (And the continued torture of the Mama cow). THIS is the cost of your dairy products. THIS is the result of your dairy purchase. YOU are directly responsible. But, the good news is, you can refuse to eat dairy again and save hundreds of lives. Or you can look the other way and pretend you dont know.
