People ask me all the time, How do you do what you do with all those kids? Truth is I am not entirely sure, I think that when your passionate about something, when your excited about something, when you find that one thing you love to do you find a way to do it. My kids are a huge part of what I do, if you have ever been to a workshop a demonstration any of my events chances are you have met one, two or all of my children. Im also incredibly blessed to have this amazing network of family to call upon, an extremely patient husband (Happy Anniversary cave husband) who allows me room to shoot for the stars, and some pretty awesome friends and mentors. I like to keep it real with you guys no gimmicks, no smoke and mirrors, no shoes (haha) so Its important for you to know im not some freak of nature, im not a super mum (infact sometimes it makes me uncomfortable to be told that because it suggests that another mother isnt and I think all mums are super by definition) washing goes unfolded in my house forever, my car looks like 40 elephants trampled through, I often cant make it to all of my little peoples things because im busy working and I cant remember the last time I stayed up late watching zombie movies with my husband (And I LOVE zombie movies). This is truth, I dont ever want anyone to believe ive got my life in some kind of perfected state Im passionate and driven yes, but not perfect. Sometimes this whole gig is crazy sometimes I wish I could quit, sometimes I go to hit the close button on everything. I even suggested it a few weeks ago to my kids, You know I could just quit all of this and live a life happilly as your mum and they said to me, But you cant quit, we love barefoot kitchens .. and indeed we do love Barefoot Kitchens, so we have decided to create a team of passionate, hard working super stars to come on board and help me out with the things that Im maybe not so good at to make room for me to focus on the things I am good at (you know like creating food, and books,online programs and dancing and stuff)and more importantly allow me to be a barefoot mum and a barefoot wife and watching plenty of zombie movies (still ignoring the washing no doubt)... So I wanted to introduce you to two of my dearest friends, and now a huge part of the Barefoot team (they do like to wear shoes but we will work on that) Amanda and Kellie. Between us we have a combined total of 16 children (sheesh thats a lot) You might find the girls at my events, answering your emails or messages and maybe even in and around the page (if they can ever get a word in with all my blabbering) Mostly they are here to keep me grounded, keep me in line and make sure my focus is in the right place so I can educate empower and service YOU! We are having a big old meeting together tomorrow to talk about taking Barefoot kitchens to the next big place in 2015. And I cannot wait to share all the goodies with you! If you see the girls around, give them a hello and a Oh hey I know you from that Barefoot Kitchens place :P
