Ossurs RHEOKnee3 uses technology similar to General Motors MagneRide (magnetic shock technology) that first appeared on the Cadillac Seville STS in 2002... The magnetic fluid is charged when I bear weight on it. That, in turn, provides resistance that keeps the knee stiff (depending on the amount of weight its bearing) and keeps me from falling down...
