People believe and do things for reasons. Those reasons may be - TopicsExpress

People believe and do things for reasons. Those reasons may be completely bonkers, but they can usually be articulated by those who hold them. They are also very variable. I have some family members who are excellent on vaccines but anti-GMO, others who are excellent on GMO but opposed to fluoridation, and others again who are fine on vaccines, GMO, and fluoride, but have signed petitions to have Grand Theft Auto V pulled from supermarket shelves because it objectifies women. With the latter, when I pointed out the now (well documented) link between violent video games and reduced rates of violent crime, I was yelled at. Id like a better name for this phenomenon than selective scientific method. Gah.
