People can trash Facebook all they want, but I will argue to my last breath that it is the BEST resource EVER for animal rescue. Case in point: A rescue friend (whom I have never personally met) in San Francisco, CA, Regina Chris, contacted me this afternoon about a dog in far NW Georgia at Chatooga County AC. The dogs name is Billy - his elderly owner passed away, and the mans wife subsequently surrendered him at AC. :( My friend in San Francisco says that (somehow - Facebook no doubt!) a rescue friend of hers in Aurora, CO (also someone whom I have never met) saw Billy and fell in love with him at first sight. He wants to get him pulled and transported to his rescue in Aurora. My California friend contacted me to see if I can pull from there. As it turns out, YLDR pulls from there a lot, so I contacted Carlean Cundiff, the shelter animal advocate there in Chatooga County, to see what it would take to get Billy pulled and on his way to Colorado. Turns out Billy is a favorite of hers, whom she already had been desperately trying to save. She said my message made her night...
