People continue to name four names as Primary Contenders for Congressman Trey Radel (R) Fort Myers: Businessman Chauncey Goss, Esq. (R) Sanibel; Former Congressman Connie Mack IV (R) Fort Myers; State Senate Majority Leader Lizbeth Benacquisto (R) Fort Myers; and State Representative Matt Caldwell (R) Lehigh Acres. And though these four names are potentials should Congressman Radel drop out in 2014, I believe a Primary challenge will come from neither of these (excluding Goss, who seems to be preparing a bid). I believe a Primary Challenge will come from the right. I believe a Tea Partier will enter into this. Who? I have suggested Businessman Matt Miller (R) Alva, and others want Banker Byron Donalds (R) Naples (neither I feel will run). But the Tea Party will want to replace their Tea Partier with another, more valuable Tea Partier. Congressman Radel will likely be challenged. He damaged SWFL and the GOP. Furthermore, if Congressman Radel is the Republican Nominee, he would likely lose the Seat. Now this is saying nothing bad to Filmmaker April Freeman (D) Cape Coral, the Democratic frontrunner who would likely unseat Congressman Radel for a second-term, but I know the Republicans would not want that stain. Now, if Congressman Radel runs, I will judge him by his record and his policies. His use of cocaine will play no role in my decision making. So far, I feel the Congressman has represented my values well. Whether I will support him for a second term, I am yet to say. But so far, I support what he has done.
