People have asked WHY ticket prices have gone up this year... so we wanted to address that, its a slightly long response, but here ya go - Last year we took a big chance renting out the Portland Spirit and hoping people would come and have a great time - we kept the cost low to help encourage people to come out, all the while none of us (including the local performers) made any money. This year not only are the RuPauls queens more expensive, but so is the rental fee for the Portland Spirit, etc... so we were forced to raise our General Admission ticket cost to cover just the basics. Last year we did not have a VIP ticket and that make it incredibly awkward when people wanted to meet Latrice, so this year we rented the Spirit for an extra hour to provide people a comfortable chance to meet Bianca, as well as enjoy a bunch of extra perks (including admission to our night event, with Grammy nominated musician Sam Sparro) - all of which costs a lot of money. Also this year we (the organizers of Genderf**king Takeover) wanted to make sure the local talent gets paid something for all their hard work - so in short, we raised the ticket price, but hope you and the rest of the community understand why and will help us make this another wonderful year!
