People have been asking a lot recently about a decent go to PC - TopicsExpress

People have been asking a lot recently about a decent go to PC build. I get a lot of budgets between $1,000 and $1,500. To make it a little easier on me, heres a $1200 build you can go up or down with to reach $1000 or $1500. To get down to $1000: 1.) Remove the SSD 2.) If you dont care about ratings, you could also get a bronze-silver PSU from Corsair, Seasonic, etc. Just make it a good brand. To get to $1500 do one or more of these depending on your needs: 1.) Upgrade to a 770 if you want some more fps in higher end games. 2.) Upgrade to a 4770k if you need more multitasking power (streaming). 3.) Upgrade to 16gb of RAM if you need it. Disclaimer: If you get both a 770 and a 4770k you might want to step up the PSU to 850w if you like having some more overhead. There you go! That should cover most of your needs for anything between $1000 and $1500. Above that, the Motherboard would change, ram speed would change, etc. The next step in the ladder youd shoot for is $2000. Between $1500 and $2000 is a bit of a waste. Enjoy! [Adam]
