People have told me that morality is all relative, but I never - TopicsExpress

People have told me that morality is all relative, but I never knew that there was an actual /thing/ called Moral Relativism. Im seeing people who think like this more and more. Listen carefully to what hes saying. And then remind yourself that more and more people are subscribing to this self-defeating, let-people-destroy-themselves-and-society-because-its-their-right, philosophy. I think of a lot of subtle topics that are suddenly being debated nowadays as to if they should even be considered immoral anymore just because people are consenting to the deeds (i.e. the crumbling of morality). But even with those aside, he just said that the rapist has a right to rape. The pedophile has a right to rape little children. This person has a right. A right. If you were ever raped, hes telling you to your face that your rapist had a right to act upon his own interpretation of what is moral. Even Hitler had a right. Genocide. Moral Relativism. Know it well. A lot of the people who believe that morality is all relative might say, Oh well I disagree with what HES saying, but in these things Im arguing about, I believe its moral for who its moral for. That doesnt get rid of the fact that they are arguing on the basis of moral relativism and that they are stumbling and self-contradicting themselves where it suits THEIR purposes. So either moral relativism is true, or it is not. It sounds like they want it to be true for where it concerns them and people that they know, and then its not true when it personally threatens them or those they know. This is whats known as vain thinking. Psuedo-intelligence.
