People here actually believe Filipinos arent racist... What a freaking joke, Filipinos are one of the most racist people I know, albeit theyre passive racists. And I should know that, Ive been around them my entire life. The only reason they deny it is because: #1: They dont know what theyre doing or saying is actually racist because theyve gotten used to it and thats what people around them do as well. #2: They havent been called out on it because they do it behind the other races backs (like I said, passive racists) Some examples would be: For Indian people: Ew! Bumbays(what Filipinos call Indians) are all smelly people! Never borrow money from a Bumbay, theyll 5-6(borrowing with interest) you! For Chinese people: Ching chong chin chao! (mocking the Chinese language) Intsik beho tulo laway! (beho is an old insult by the Spanish to old Chinese merchants which people still here still say to do the same.) For Black people: Blackface, or the painting of ones face black for laughs. Yes, people here have done that, Ive seen it on TV and some local performances. The repeated and casual use of the word Nigger especially by kids and teens. There are many more examples, but those are the only ones I remember at the moment. Although the most often form of racism Filipinos partake in is mocking the way people of other races speak and use random words that arent even part of the language. Ive heard people around here mock Chinese, Japanese, and Indian. And the reason why they keep doing it is no one calls them out on it and others reinforce it by laughing at it. Also they dont have the courage to say it in the other races faces so they do it when theyre not there. As long as no ones mad, its fine, right? So if youre reading this, and you have done these things in the past or youre still doing it, let this be a wake-up call. You were/are being racist and you seriously need to stop. Because you know full well how it feels when other races call Filipinos lowly housekeepers or brown monkeys. Dont be a hypocrite on top of being a racist.
