Apparently the Daily Mail has suddenly developed expertise in handling medical statistics. It clearly has not occurred to them that testing for, and diagnosing non-life-threatening cancers would push up both the number of patients believed to have developed cancer and at the same time, the 5 years survival rates would rise. At the expense of ruining peoples lives, unnecessarily. Why stop there. Why not just diagnose everyone with cancer.
