People living in disapora pay taxes on their income in their host nations. Then when they go to make a remittance to support their families in their nation of origin, a banking or finance institution steps in to take a further cut. Somalis have had a brilliant cooperative working for years. The aid sent back to Africa in remittances is far in excess of anything that USAID or UKAID is sending. Of course a sum like that can be mre cream for Barclays or Western Union, but is it right to take the cream?
