People love a good story! - John Lewis Christmas advert by Adam&Eve DDB London As we are inundated with adverts we have no desire to be convinced yet I admit to always looking forward to seeing the creative efforts of the John Lewis Christmas advert each year. It would best be described as sweep-you-off your feet advertising. We are some consumed and fascinated by the the story and it is not until the end reveal we realise its for John Lewis. I really enjoy watching the advert. It is not ethically sensitive or reliant on celebrity endorsements but is very imaginative and fresh. Douglas Wilson directed this 2015 advert and also their Snowman advert from 2011. As consumers we are more likely to buy into the brand if we like it. Children love it and its very clever on a commercial level. Last year John Lewis sold out of a product line featuring the bare and hare character in their animated commercial. This year the toy penguin is set to do very well in their stores. The John Lewis advert sets the standard for quality in UK festive adverts.
