People need to learn about some of the back story with Agenda 21 - TopicsExpress

People need to learn about some of the back story with Agenda 21 which I predict we will be hearing more about in the future. The most fundamental difference in economic outlook between libertarians and progressives is libertarians think of wealth as being open summed, as in you can create wealth, save wealth, consume wealth, but most significantly, there is no absolute fixed maximum amount of wealth. This while progressives seem to see wealth as fixed/zero summed; wealth should be shared when there are those in need. I would no more make a wealthy person share their money and property with people who are strangers to themselves, than I would make a pregnant women carry an unwanted fetus full term. If it is wrong to impose altruistic duties in one case, it seems likely to me to be wrong to impose them in all cases. When per capital income gets to approximately six thousands dollars a year, more and more money gets spent looking after the environment. This has been seen over and over though out the world. When you are chasing after your next meal, for yourself and your family, not as much thought is given to externalities like the environment. When your life is reasonably comfortable, then you can start thinking about larger matters. The ONLY realistic strategy to achieve sustainability is by means of the use of Property rights and universal self-ownership. Many in the sustainable community would seem to have contempt for people and what people may want for themselves. So they have their Agenda 21 enacted clandestinely. Little things like Liberty, and equal due process after all have little meaning when one is out to save the world! Isnt it always better to appease envy by embracing the result of equal poverty to that of unequal prosperity? Shouldnt merit and ability be irrelevant to the amassing of wealth, with rather power accumulating to those Philosopher Kings of the greatest good intentions. After all, isnt will of the ruler more important to achieving results, than knowledge, experience, and an individually willing heart.
