People need to read more Bonhoeffer, and less Osteen; more Barth, and less LaHaye. Read more Wesley, Lewis, Brueggemann, Borg, Tillich, Spong - theologians who actually study and think about God, without having an agenda. Throw away Meyer and Darby; toss out your Scofield Reference Bibles. Many will follow them in their unrestrained immorality, and because of these false teachers the way of truth will be slandered. In their greed they will take advantage of you with lies. These false teachers promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of immorality; whatever overpowers you, enslaves you. - 2nd Peter Watch out for false prophets.
