People of Long Island. You are awful. (Not all of you, but most.) Ive been walking over to the Stop N Shop in Bellmore every other day and heres what I learned. Firstly, no one here can quite grasp the concept for the 12 or less line. Literally not a single person. Second, these cashiers must have the absolute worst lives ever. My exchange: Me: (All smiles) Hey man. How are you? Cashier: ... (nothing) Me: That good, huh? Cashier: ... Me: ... Cashier: (finally) Been a long day. Me: Awe, thats a bummer, but its almost over! Cashier: ... Me: Alright. Well thanks a lot man. Really appreciate it. Cashier: ... (nothing, doesnt even look at me. Kinda throws the receipt in my direction.) Now, for starters Im not feeling well, but despite that I know well enough to be courteous and polite. The woman in front of me was a goddamned nightmare - rude, had like 40 items and refused to look at the price of her items. Just kept barking at this kid, HOW MUCH??? Ive been there. Retail sucks. Doesnt give this kid the right to be shitty to me. Anyways, this place sucks. Long Island sucks. Im glad I moved across the country to get away from it. Manners dont exist here, at all. But I DO love the people Im here to see and spend time with. I just hate everything that surrounds them. Dont get me started on Manhattan. Thats next post!
