People often ask me, “Will you tell your kids to not go to college?” As a Voluntaryist practicing peaceful parenting I would not feel comfortable directing my kids to do anything, especially when they reach their teenage years of emotional and physical maturity. I would hope they can make their own decisions regarding their respective futures. I do not know how expensive college will be in 20 years, what other educational tools will be available at that time, or even if college will maintain cultural relevance due to the exponentially increasing advancement of computers as elucidated under Moore’s Law, therefore it is quite pointless to make such fabulous predictions. Simply focus your efforts on providing your children with whatever tools they need to assist them in pursuing their passions. This is one of the surest ways of securing a bright future for them. The less we teach them, the more they will teach us. The next generation is the future. The world will be very different for them than it was for us. Let them mold it in the manner in which they deem fit. Anything else would be hubris of the highest order. https://youtube/watch?v=VWDxBkFLOW8&list=PL9361yULXYpAdWiNpj-4k6J9FzEeDwQ-S&index=15
