People often ask me why I prefer sweaty little gigs to flash stadium type extravaganzas. They are usually unconvinced by my answers so Ill try to persuade you. On Saturday were going to the Barras to a free gig by an esteemed singer whos offering free whisky, has emailed us all to welcome us, offered links to songs so we can sing along and genuinely wants people to enjoy the music and have a great time. Tell me again how bands charging £70+ for tickets, in an arena, are not in it for the cash?
