People often say, All things are possible with God. But if there - TopicsExpress

People often say, All things are possible with God. But if there is an all-powerful God up above, then why does our world persist with so much suffering and misery? Honestly, if I was truly all-powerful and could do anything, I think I would have considerably straightened out the mess of our world one way or another by now. We have a lot of theological explanations for this dilemma: We dont understand but it’s all a part of his great plan. God works in mysterious ways. We just have to trust God. His ways are not our ways. If I take the religious narrative that I have often heard, I can sum it up as follows: 1. God created a world where suffering and misery is inevitable. 2. Though God is capable of intervening and changing this, its part of his mysterious divine plan not to do so. 3. Instead, God has given Jesus and the Bible for humankind to work this out, but we have not yet gotten it right (or even agreed on what Jesus and the Bible means) and the suffering and misery persists. 4. Obviously this is all our fault, and one day in the future God is just gonna abruptly end the whole thing and everything will work our beautifully or not, depending on where you stand. Is it just me, or does this whole narrative not make any sense?
