People on the DDR players thread analyze every single teeny weeny - TopicsExpress

People on the DDR players thread analyze every single teeny weeny aspect of DDR and are able to write novellas about the technicalities, but why do most of them legitimately suck? Im not even saying it to be mean, but when I was 9, 10, 11, etc. the way I got good at the game was by not thinking about it too much. Im really not trying to be insensitive, and perhaps Im making a judgment based on posts concerning difficulty and help to progress in the game, which I am in full support of, but I also feel like a lot of DDR is mind over body; and if your mind is able to process, analyze, and be consciously aware of what the problem is at a technical level, then your body will eventually condition itself to fix the mind block due to the level of awareness I see people having. Im kind of happy I never was exposed to all the technical stuff until I got older, because: 1. It allowed me to get better based on the simplicity of hitting arrows to music as best I can. 2. It allowed me to motivate myself knowing that my thinking is limited as it comes to the technicalities of the game (an ignorance is bliss situation). 3. It allowed me to tackle problems I had with my game play and methodically plan to overcome them without being overwhelmed by a plethora of information that may have distorted my image of the basic concept I fell in love with: hitting arrows to music. To conclude, I just feel like people focus on the technicalities of the game before they build a stable foundation, and I feel like as ironic as it is, its slightly detrimental to their overall growth as a player. I just had this thought and thought Id share it. Maybe Im completely wrong, maybe Im a little wrong, and maybe Im half wrong and half right, but Id love to know if anyone else is aware of the observation I made--or Im just writing another sleep deprived status.
