People on the left (meaning people who believe you are the property of your government to be robbed, told what to do, what to eat, what you can say, what health plan you must buy, that you arent allowed to defend yourself, that government should be tracking your communications with others) have always mocked the idea of resisting enforcement of illegitimate or ridiculous laws. The left screamed when Indiana passed the law allowing forceful resistance to illegal entry by law enforcement. NOW, youve got a whole lot of what are almost certainly lefty Democrat voters advocating outright murder of law enforcement. People are upset about the (sometimes deadly) violence of government against people that the people they mocked have been warning about. Just like they mocked the same people in the mid 2000s who talked about an impending economic collapse. Maybe the libertarian folks have a lot more right than most care to admit? That nobody else has a higher claim to your life than you do yourself. That you have, except as compensation to others you have harmed, an absolute right to your things [that you traded moments of your life to acquire], to be secure in your home, safe from government surveillance, a right to protect yourself from others, to be free from fraud, to free speech and expression, to exchange in free and open trade with others and to travel about the public thoroughfare without fear of being accosted, kidnapped or prevented from breathing by the authorities.
