People once more are suggesting a new Australian Flag, my suggestion is:- I suggest a flag to show our multi-culturism. We could use the cross of St Andrew to represent Scotland and Greece (since St Andrew was Greek), the cross of St George to represent England and Malta, the cross of St David to represent Wales. Those crosses could be combined in the top left corner of the new flag to show the range of modern European migrants who helped form the modern Australia. It could have a dark blue background representing the sea around our nation of Islands, and a Southern Constellation of stars could be included in the lower right to show the nation is in the Southern Hemisphere -- the Southern Cross leaps to mind, especially because of its mental link to Kingsford-Smith and Australian participation in early aviation development! Now that we are finally acknowledging the early settlers of Australia and their 50 000 year history here, we could add, centrally or in the bottom left quarter, or top right a symbol representing there presence, perhaps a sun on a black and red background representing the sunburnt country, or a representation of Uluru rising red from a dark field.
