People please tip your servers. I know its not your fault that people dont have real minimum wage paying jobs and it shouldnt be your responsibility to make up for what the government isnt but the truth is thats not what youre paying for. Youre paying to sit in a place and have your food be brought to you. Your drinks be refilled repeatedly, which as a server I believe people drink way to much in one sitting, someone checking on you like a little kid every 10 minutes, having to listen to your corny jokes that weve heard a million times before. Youre paying for a service. If you want to opt out of paying for that service, get your food Togo or stay at home. And no, if everyone agreed to stop tipping, restaurant owners will have to pay them higher wages isnt a reason not to tip now. Thats gonna take years to go into effect, if it does meanwhile servers are tiptoeing the poverty line. But if the service is horrible, you dont have to tip excellently cause Ive had some pretty bad service but I still tip cause I know my tip might the difference in a good month or an eviction notice for that server. Im not telling you how to spend your money, its just some insight from the server side. We offer up a service, that isnt as easy as it looks.
